On counting rules in distributed detection
نویسندگان
چکیده
A network of n sensors receiving independent and identical observations in R", regarding certain hinarj hypotheses, pass their decisions to a fusion center which then decides which one of the two hypotheses is true. We consider the situation where each sensor employs a likelihood ratio test with its own observation and a threshold, which is the same for all the sensors, and the fusion center decision based on k out of n decision rule. The asymptotic ( n + 0 0 ) behavior of k out of n rules for finite k and finite n k are considered. For these rules, the error probability of making a wrong decision does not tend to zero as n + m, unless the probability distributions under the hypotheses satisfy certain conditions. For a specific detection example, the asymptotic performances of the OR ( k = 1 ) rule and the AND ( k = n ) rule are worse than that of a single sensor.

Optimum Local Decision Rules in a Distributed Detection System with Dependent Observations
The theory of distributed detection is receiving a lot of attention. A common assumption used in previous studies is the conditional independence of the observations. In this paper, the optimization of local decision rules for distributed detection networks with correlated observations is considered. We focus on presenting the detection theory for parallel distributed detection networks with fi...

متن کاملBenford Distribution and its Applications
This papers considers the Benford distribution as one the interesting rules of probability theory. This rule shows that, despite of usual underestanding about the uniform distribution of digites for lieing on different positions in numbers, digits are distributed according to an non uniform distributions for numbers araising from many natural phonemena. Benford distribution proposes ...
متن کاملA Multilevel Quantization Scheme for the Decentralized Detection of an Unknown Signal
Recently a quantization and fusion scheme was proposed and analyzed for the distributed detection of an unknown signal in noise. The scheme is a modified version of the counting rules and can either be thought of as a feedback of the fusion decision to the local sensors or in terms of multiple partitioning of the observation space. The proposed quantization and fusion scheme is more robust than...
متن کاملOn the equivalence between likelihood ratio tests and counting rules in distributed detection with correlated sensors
We have considered in this paper the conditions for the equivalence of the counting rule and the likelihood ratio test when implementing the fusion rule of decisions corresponding to identically operated correlated sensors. A simple model of correlation, defined by two correlation indices, one for every hypothesis, has been considered. A main conclusion is that for properly operating sensors, t...
متن کاملNeural Network Based Protection of Software Defined Network Controller against Distributed Denial of Service Attacks
Software Defined Network (SDN) is a new architecture for network management and its main concept is centralizing network management in the network control level that has an overview of the network and determines the forwarding rules for switches and routers (the data level). Although this centralized control is the main advantage of SDN, it is also a single point of failure. If this main contro...
